Writing ad creative that gets enquiries
Ad creative that produces enquiries names the problem the buyer has and makes the next step feel easy. Liking an ad is not the same as acting on it.
Write for the problem not the service
People respond to the situation they are in rather than to a list of what the business does. The strongest opening line names the thing the buyer is trying to solve and the rest of the ad explains what happens next.
This is also what separates ads that get attention from ads that get enquiries.
Make the next step feel small
A request that feels like work gets ignored. Asking for a call is a bigger commitment than asking for a quote or a short conversation, and the wording decides which one it feels like.
Say plainly what happens after they act. Knowing that the next step is a short call with no preparation removes a lot of hesitation.
Test the promise rather than the colours
Most ad testing fusses over visual detail while the message stays the same. Testing two different promises tells you far more than testing two shades of the same ad.
Change one thing at a time so the results can be read.
Where the words should come from
The best ad copy usually already exists in what customers say. The questions they ask before buying and the reasons they gave for choosing you are the strongest raw material available.
Writing the ads in that language means the creative sounds like the business rather than like advertising.
Questions buyers ask
What makes an ad produce enquiries instead of likes
Naming the buyer's problem and making the next step feel small and clear.
How many versions should I run
A few that offer genuinely different promises. Testing minor variations rarely teaches much.
Does the image matter more than the words
The words carry the promise and the image earns the stop. Both need to agree with the page behind them.
