Google Ads

Why your Google Ads spend is not turning into enquiries

When ads get clicks but no enquiries the gap is usually after the click rather than before it. The landing page, the offer and the follow-up are where the work disappears.

Where the leak usually sits

There are three places to look first. The page people land on, the words on that page and what happens after they reach out. Most accounts are strong on the first part of that chain and weak on the rest.

A click from a ready buyer is expensive. Sending that person to a home page that makes them hunt for a phone number wastes most of what the click was worth.

The landing page question

A page built for paid traffic has one job. It should repeat what the ad promised, make the next step obvious and load before patience runs out. Anything else on the page is competing with that job.

Check it on a phone with the eye of somebody who has already decided to act. If the call to action needs finding, that is the leak.

What to fix first

Fix the page before the ads. Better ads pointed at a weak page produce more expensive disappointment. Once the page carries the traffic, the account work starts to show in the numbers.

Then look at tracking. If the account cannot see which searches produced enquiries, it cannot spend toward them.

Questions buyers ask

Why do I get clicks but no calls

Usually because the landing page does not make the next step easy, or because the ad promised something the page did not repeat.

Should I pause the ads while I fix the page

Not always. Keeping a small amount of traffic running shows whether the fixes are working as they land.

Does the ad copy matter as much as the page

Both matter, but the page decides what happens after the click. Fix that first.
